SQUIB: WHEN ALL OF THIS IS OVER
Poet, Anthony Anaxagorou and One6th collaborate to create a poetry film in response to lockdown and the provocation 'When All of This is Over'. Commissioned by the Bradford Literature Festival, this cinematic stop-motion film delves into the emotion of Anthony's poem (Squib), the claustrophobic journey through lockdown and a hopeful look towards the future.

Created in just 7 weeks during lockdown, SQUIB is a film built around the second stanza of Anthony Anaxagorou's poem of the same name. Guided by Anthony's description of his daily habits and mindset during lockdown, we crafted a story which speaks to the struggles and claustrophobia of the time, whilst highlighting our collective resilience and ability to evolve through difficult circumstances.
SQUIB was commissioned by the Bradford Literature Festival who challenged selected teams of filmmakers and poets to respond to the provocation "When all of this is over". What unfolded was an honest reflection about the difficulties faced during lockdown, whilst maintaining a hopeful outlook as sought by the original brief.
Given the short time frame, the production was a highly creative journey of problem solving and pushing beyond the limits of what we initially thought would be possible. SQUIB went on to screen at festvials internationally, including a nomination at The British Animation Awards and GOLD at the Kinsale Shark Short Film Awards, where it won best international animation.
